Gardener Hat

The wheat straw weaving that gives shape to braids or cuelchas and then to chupallas and hats, is as old as the peasant settlement in the Itata valley, Ñuble region. And it's not for nothing that the quilters and chulleros of Ninhue have earned a designation of origin to highlight this wonderful craft. To shape these beautiful hats, the collars are sewn with a machine starting in the center of the crown and continuously in circles until they end with the brim, achieving a continuous hat, from brim to crown. These can be given different designs using wooden lasts, which achieve shapes such as the characteristic oval indentation in the upper part of the cup. This stylish model for planters and vegetable gardens is made of 7 thick gauge straws (strands) and has a total diameter of approximately 42 cm. It comes in Black, Dove and Butter color variants and includes the retainer (to prevent it from flying away when we ride) and a colored ribbon. This hat is made to order because it is custom made. To know your size, you must measure the perimeter of your head with a sewing tape over the ears and following the natural fit line of the hat.
